On 8 September, the Foreign Secretary announced measures to stop UK economic activity supporting the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank. We are working to put the legislation in place, at pace and at least within six to nine months. A number of Departments and agencies, including His Majesty's Revenue and Customs and the Department for Business, Innovation, Science, and Trade, are responsible for sanctions compliance and enforcement, with civil and criminal powers available where breaches occur. Detailed guidance will be published alongside any future legislation to clarify the implications for UK businesses.
