Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions her Department has had with the European Commission on the proposed implementation date of the UK–EU Sanitary and Phytosanitary agreement; and whether July 2027 has been formally agreed by both parties.

Officials continue to engage closely with EU counterparts through negotiations on the sanitary and phytosanitary agreement. Negotiations are at an advanced stage, and this Government remains committed to concluding the agreement ahead of the next UK–EU Summit on 20 November and will announce implementation dates in due course.
