Question
To ask the Right hon. Member for Kenilworth and Southam, representing the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission, whether the Electoral Commission has issued (a) advice and (b) guidance to registered political parties established as limited companies on the liability of company directors.
The Commission’s party registration guidance sets out information for new parties who are also registered as a company. In such circumstances, the party’s constitution must include details of how the company registration impacts on, or interacts with, the party's structure and organisation. Parties would need to seek their own advice on matters that could impact their responsibilities under company law.
