To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, pursuant to the Answer of 9 October 2026 to Question 20517 on Government Digital Service: Senior Civil Servants, what is the length of the fixed term contract period for the interim Director General for Digital Transformation; and whether it has been extended since July 2024.

The interim Director General for Digital Transformation was appointed on a two-year fixed-term basis from July 2024. The appointment was extended to 21 October 2026, with the approval of the First Civil Service Commissioner. Following a competitive external recruitment campaign, the same individual was appointed permanently to the role and is now a permanent civil servant.
