Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether the value of a person's home will be taken into account in any assessment of charges under the proposed National Care Service.

The Government is determined to create a National Care Service for everyone who needs it and we are bringing forward the timeline of Baroness Casey’s Independent Commission as the basis for that crucial reform. We are also determined to deliver a broad-based political and public consensus on these proposals, and the Hon Member would be welcome to share his views and proposals to Baroness Casey over the coming months.
