Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, if he will assess the effect on the energy sector of the UK leaving the EU without having agreed a trade deal with the EU.

Departments are currently conducting analysis with the Department for Exiting the EU to understand the impacts that withdrawal will have on business, consumers and other economic actors. We are committed to securing the best possible deal with the EU and will ensure effective energy market operation and cross border trading of energy.
