The Commission set out considerations for the delivery of mobile voting and vote anywhere options in its 2023 feasibility study, including maintaining security, ballot secrecy and integrity. The Commission has not yet made a similar assessment relating to telephone voting. Its evaluation report on the 2026 flexible voting pilots highlighted that telephone voting is used successfully in Australia and recommended that it should be explored for use in the UK.
