Mental Health Services: Children and Young People

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate his Department has made of the number of children and young people who are projected to need access to child and adolescent mental health services in each of the next five years.

The information requested is not held by the Department.
The Department is commissioning a new prevalence survey of child and adolescent mental health that will update these estimates. These estimates should help inform commissioning decisions. Publication of the survey is anticipated in 2017.
