Sir Robert Naylor’s Review of NHS Property and Estates, published in March 2017, outlined recommendations for how the National Health Service can better utilise NHS property, in the interests of patients, National Health Service staff and taxpayers.

The recommendations were grouped into three themes: improving leadership and capability; national planning and funding; and incentivising local action. The Government Response to the Review, published in January 2018, accepted all 17 recommendations, with a small number ‘in part’ or ‘in principle’ and explained the approach to implementation for each. Subsequently, we have taken a variety of actions.
