It is the duty of any responsible Government to prepare for every eventuality including the scenario that we leave the EU without agreeing a deal.

We are working closely with the police on contingency planning so we can ensure the safety and security of our citizens in all scenarios.

The police have tried and tested strategic mobilisation plans for responding to a wide range of emergency scenarios, including disorder. We are working closely with the National Police Chiefs Council and National Police Coordination Centre to ensure they are appropriate for a No Deal EU Exit.
