We are assembling a new cross-Government task and finish team to identify next steps for tackling the issue of mega donors in UK politics, and putting politics under public control. This team will examine issues of illegitimate political influence and identify further measures to make political donations less beholden to ‘vested interests’.

The new team will operate in conjunction with the work already being delivered by HMG’s Defending Democracy Taskforce, which works across government to tackle the full spectrum of national security threats to our democracy.
