The management of hoax calls is the responsibility of individual National Health Service ambulance trusts.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service advises hoax callers of the seriousness of their actions and the risks posed to others. If repeated, callers will be referred to the relevant Police Force. The Trust has also undertaken media campaigns to highlight the risks that hoax calls pose.
