Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she plans to take similar steps to the US State Department and bar Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the head of Sri Lanka’s Army, from entry to the UK.
The Home Office does not comment on individual cases.
The Home Secretary can exclude a non-European Economic Area national where it is conducive to the public good. The Immigration Rules also provide for the refusal of entry clearance or leave to enter at the border if a person’s character, conduct or associations mean it is undesirable to grant them entry to the United Kingdom.
