The Department has not had any meetings with the Advertising Standards Authority on the advertising of non-prescription medicines such as dermal fillers in the last 12 months.

The Department has been working with industry stakeholders to explore the regulation of the cosmetic interventions industry. This has included engagement with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in relation to its review of online advertising, launched in February 2019.

The Government is committed to improving the safety of cosmetic procedures through better training for practitioners and clear information so that people can make informed decisions about their care.
