Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether her Department plans to publish apprenticeship start data by (a) industry and (b) sector for the (i) 2021-22 and (ii) 2022-23 academic year.

The most recent statistics on apprenticeship starts by employer sector cover the 2020/21 academic year and are published on Explore Education Statistics at: https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/apprenticeships-in-england-by-industry-characteristics.

Data for 2021/22 and 2022/23 will be published in June 2024 and June 2025, respectively.

Apprenticeship starts by sector subject area of the qualification are available for the 2021/22 academic year and can be found here: https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/apprenticeships-and-traineeships/2021-22#content-7-heading.

There is also provisional data for August to April of the 2022/23 academic year, which can be found at: https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/apprenticeships-and-traineeships/2022-23.

Full year data will be published on 30 November 2023.
