Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, when he expects to publish the results of the consultation for the NHS England Research and Development Strategy.

The consultation for the NHS England Research and Development Strategy closed in December 2013. NHS England subsequently decided not to publish the results of the consultation at that time, but instead to use the findings to inform a new piece of work which would be developed with the Department which will describe NHS England’s role in promoting and taking account of research in the new healthcare system.

NHS England is working with the Department to agree a revised approach.

Delivery of NHS England’s research objective was discussed at the accountability meeting on 14 October 2014. The minutes of this meeting are available at:
