The Department estimates that by the end of 2015 fewer than 1 per cent of UK premises will have access to speeds of less than 2Mbps, down from 11 per cent in 2010. The Department is developing plans to enable these remaining premises to have access to speeds of more than 2Mbps by December 2015. The Department estimates that 90 per cent of UK premises will have access to speeds of more than 24Mbps by early 2016, and that 95 per cent will have access to these speeds by December 2017.
