Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what estimate he has made of the number of onshore wind sites with planning consent in Wales which could potentially bid in a Contract for Difference auction.

In order to be eligible to compete for a Contract for Difference (CfD) onshore wind projects must, amongst other requirements, be able to demonstrate that they have received planning consent and have an installed capacity greater than 5MW.

The Department tracks the progress of renewable electricity projects in the UK, including onshore wind projects, through the planning system and publishes this data in the Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD), which can be viewed online at:
