Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent steps his Department is taking to support the integration of refugee families living in the UK.

The UK has a proud history of providing protection to those that need it – and this Government is committed to ensuring that refugees can take posi-tive steps towards integration as they rebuild their lives in the UK.

The Government response to the consultation on the Integrated Communities Strategy (ICS) and action plan was published on GOV.UK on 9th February. Refugees can access all integration measures in the ICS and have access to mainstream benefits and services. This includes healthcare, education, English language tuition and Job Centre work coaches. The Home Office is working with other Government departments to ensure these services meet the needs of refugees.

In addition, the ICS includes commitments to work with civil society and others to increase integration support for all refugees. The measures for refugees focus on four key themes: English language, employment, mental health and information.
