Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many hours were worked on average by NHS-employed hospital doctors in each of the last 10 years.
This information is not held centrally. The basic working hours of all employed doctors are 40 per week. Doctors in training are contracted to work in bandings of 40 hours; 40 to 48 hours and 48 to 56 hours.
