Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, with reference to the Recommendation on page 11 of the report of the National Audit Office entitled, financial sustainability of local authorities, published on 19 November 2014, HC 783, what steps his Department is taking to strengthen its processes for assessing local authority funding requirements at future spending reviews.

The Government will publish a formal response to the Public Accounts Committee's consideration of the National Audit Office report; this will be presented to Parliament in due course.
