To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, how many civil servants from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology will be moving to her Department.

Following the July 2026 Machinery of Government changes, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is working closely with affected departments to confirm and implement the associated transfer of functions and staff. We currently expect around 2,600 FTE to transfer into DCMS from the former Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. The final figure remains subject to ongoing discussion and the subsequent formal transfer of staff.
