Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the Answer of 4 February 2019 to Question 214559 on Buildings: Insulation, what assessment was carried out by his Department's Independent Expert Advisory Panel to conclude that the BS 8414 is a robust test; if he will publish that assessment; and if he will make a statement.

Members of the independent expert advisory panel witnessed a series of BS 8414 fire tests commissioned by my department and had full access to the Building Research Establishment’s fire test reports for each of the tests. As such they were able to consider the nature of the test and decide whether it provided the necessary information before issuing detailed advice on cladding systems.
