The information requested is not collected centrally.

The value of arts and music to health is recognised and most mental health trusts provide arts/music therapy for their patients. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends offering arts therapies to all people with schizophrenia, particularly for the alleviation of negative symptoms. It recommends starting art therapies during all stages of the condition.

The Department of Health, Public Health England and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport are working together to promote the arts within the health sector in order to improve health and wellbeing.
