Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what discussions he has had with local authorities on the funding available for supporting unaccompanied asylum seeking children in Portsmouth.

As part of our review, all Upper Tier and Unitary local authorities were invited to provide detailed feedback and information about how much it costs them to support UASC. Over 50 local authorities, including Portsmouth, responded. All of the evidence submitted has been taken into consideration. I am grateful for the contribution of local authorities like Portsmouth in supporting UASC and for their contribution to the review.
