Boko Haram continue to abduct both males and females across north east Nigeria. The security situation in this region makes it difficult to obtain verifiable information on the precise number of abductions that have taken place or the gender of those involved. However, we estimate that since the abduction of the 270 Chibok schoolgirls in April over 350 other people have been abducted by Boko Haram. We continue to engage with Nigerian officials at both Federal and state level on their efforts to secure the release of those abducted and to provide better protection from Boko Haram attacks.
