Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what recent assessment he has made of local authority involvement in the Work Programme; and if he will make a statement.

The Department has commissioned external researchers to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the Work Programme which includes surveys and qualitative research with providers, participants and DWP staff. The research asks providers some questions about their work with other agencies but it does not specifically ask about local authority involvement.
