Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to the Answer of 22 July 2014, Official Report, column 1050W, on the Middle East, when his Department will conduct a full assessment of whether Israeli military action during Operation Protective Edge has complied with its international legal obligations.

We are clear that there must be meaningful investigations into possible violations of international humanitarian law by all sides, including those abuses committed by Hamas and other militant groups. We call on all parties to cooperate with the UN Commission of Inquiry, which must be balanced and impartial.
