Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many children’s homes run by (a) local authorities, (b) voluntary organisations and (c) private sector institutions have (i) had their operations suspended, (ii) had their registration cancelled and (iii) been issued with a notice restricting accommodation in each of the last five years.

This is a matter for Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Amanda Spielman. I have asked her to write to the hon. Member for South Shields and a copy of her reply will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
