Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what guidance his Department has issued in relation to restrictions on types of food that may be served and consumed in publicly-funded faith schools.

The school food standards regulations apply for all schools, regardless of their religious status. We recently published new school food standards that will come into effect in January 2015. Alongside the standards, we have written a short guidance document for school cooks and caterers. This is published online at:
