Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what plans he has to introduce a national entitlement to the study of religious education in schools.

The Department has received the Commission on Religious Education’s review report, which includes its recommendation for introduction of a statutory national entitlement to the study of religious education and worldviews. This is under consideration, and the Department will make its views known soon.
