Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether his Department has made an assessment of the potential merits of adding parental alienation to the definition of emotional abuse in the Working Together to Safeguard Children guide.

We have not considered adding parental alienation to the definition of emotional abuse in ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’. The definitions of different forms of abuse in that guidance are not intended to be exhaustive.
