The Department has ongoing discussions with the food and drink industry and other stakeholders on the proposed introduction of restrictions on the online advertising of products high in fat, salt and sugar, including through stakeholder engagement to assist businesses in responding to the consultation. Discussions have included the timeline for the introduction of any restrictions. We also made a public commitment in our healthy weight strategy, published July 2020, that we intend to implement any further advertising restrictions on TV and online at the same time by the end of 2022.
