The number of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) with Statements of SEN or Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans recorded as being educated elsewhere and in settings other than a school for each year since 2015, is published in the ‘Statements of SEN and EHC plans’ statistical publication available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statements-of-sen-and-ehc-plans-england-2018.

Data on primary need is not available for children and young people who are educated elsewhere.
