Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the timetable is for a decision to be made on the future electrification of the railway line between Oxford and Didcot Parkway.

Work has recently begun with Network Rail to understand the requirements for further development of this scheme, which will establish the timetable. This scheme will be taken forward for consideration for approval through the new enhancements pipeline process announced in March 2018. Investment into this scheme will be subject to affordability and value for money assessment.
