The UK supports two programmes in the Orinoquia region of Colombia which are managed by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The first programme, known as 'Ganaderia Colombiana Sostenible' aims to increase the sustainability of cattle ranching. It does this by working with small and medium sized farmers to restore degraded land by integrating cattle ranching with tree planting.

The second programme, called the 'BioCarbon Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes' aims to reduce emissions from the land sector through smarter land-use planning, policies, and practices. It works with a wide range of farming and forestry enterprises and community projects.
