Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what the value of the contract awarded to accept welfare payments to Post Office accounts is (a) in total and (b) per individual transaction.
The value of the seven-year Post Office Card Account contract is £250.9 million.
The payment model for the Post Office card account is based on the number of customers who have live accounts. The payment model does not include a cost per transaction.
