Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate he has made of the number of teachers employed in state (a) primary and (b) secondary schools in each of the last eight years.

The following table provides the full-time equivalent number of teachers in service in state funded nursery/primary schools and secondary schools in England for January 2009 and for November 2010 to 2016. Information for November 2017 will be available on 28 June 2018.
