Question to the Northern Ireland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, how many bonuses were awarded to senior civil servants working at his Department and its agencies in each of the last six years; and what the total cost of those bonuses was.

As part of the Government’s transparency agenda, departments publish annual information on the number of awards and spend on end-year and in-year Non-Consolidated Performance Related Pay. The information for my Department for the years 2012-13 to 2015-16 can be found at:

Information has not yet been published for this year, however four bonuses were awarded to senior civil servants working at my Department with a total cost of £45,000.

Decisions on bonuses for the most recent year have not yet been taken.
