Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many citizens of the Republic of Ireland living in the UK have (a) applied for and (b) been granted British citizenship in each of the last 5 years.
Information on applications for and grants of British citizenship broken down by the applicants’ nationality is published in the quarterly Immigration Statistics, Citizenship volume tables cz_01_q_a and cz_06 at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/immigration-statistics-october-to-december-2017/list-of-tables#citizenship
Please note that the figures are not directly comparable as some applications in a given year may be decided in a later year. However the large majority of decisions are grants.
