Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, with reference to page 21 of his Department’s publication entitled British energy security strategy, published 7 April 2022, what steps his Department has taken to ensure that the Great British Nuclear Vehicle is (a) established and (b) operational in 2022.

The Government appointed Simon Bowen as Industry Adviser to lead the set-up of the new Great British Nuclear body on 13 May. With Simon’s support, the Government is working with industry to develop options for GBN’s scope and remit, and to establish GBN in line with the ambitions set out in the British Energy Security Strategy, published in April 2022.
