The shelling of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station is the first time that a state's military forces have fired at the site of a fuelled and functioning nuclear reactor. The UK convened an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on 4 March to condemn the Russian attack on the plant and call on Russia to act in line with its international obligations. The UK continues to support the diplomatic efforts of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Director-General (DG) Grossi to restore nuclear safety and security in Ukraine. Grossi visited Turkey on 10 March to meet Lavrov and Kuleba.
