Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what recent discussions he has had with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on funding for early years providers; what steps he plans to take as a result of those discusions; and if he will make statement.

The government is determined to support as many families as possible with access to high-quality, affordable childcare. This is why by 2019 - 2020 we will be spending a record £6 billion on childcare support.

HM Treasury and Department for Education discuss the early years entitlements at both a ministerial and official level regularly and as necessary, and will continue to do so.
