Malta: Nature Conservation

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will make representations to his counterpart in Malta on ensuring that the Maltese Government complies with its international obligations on the protection of birds.

​The Government remains firmly opposed to the illegal hunting of wildlife, and supports the European Commission's efforts to ensure Member State compliance with EU Directive 2009/147/EC on the Conservation of Wild Birds. Our High Commission in Malta continues to monitor the situation.
