The Heat Metering and Billing Regulations 2014 require heat suppliers to notify the Secretary of State if they have an existing heat network and how it is complying with the Regulations. An initial set of aggregated statistics on a small sample of notification data that had been quality assured were published in February 2017 and can be found here. Summary statistics on a much larger portion of quality assured data are planned to be released as part of Energy Trends on 29 March 2018. There are no plans to establish a public database containing details of individual existing UK heat networks.

Additionally, the Heat Networks Delivery Unit has recently started to publish quarterly reports on heat networks projects in the development pipeline, which will act as public database of potential future heat networks. These reports can be found at this link.
