Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, when the Government plans to respond to the Oxburgh Report on carbon capture storage and utilisation.

My noble Friend the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Lord Henley) responded in a letter to Lord Oxburgh on 15 January 2018 on the recommendations made in the Parliamentary Advisory Group’s report on carbon capture and storage. A copy of the letter was deposited in the Library of the House and is available at:

As set out in Lord Henley’s letter, the recommendations made in the report have been considered in the development of our new approach to CCUS, as set out in the Clean Growth Strategy, and will continue to be a consideration in the shaping our ongoing work.
