Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he plans to adopt the recommendation on page 150 of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse's Child Migration Programmes Report, published in March 2018, that no regard be had to any other payments of compensation that have been made in particular cases to former child migrants by previous Child Migration Programmes.

Successive Governments have accepted that the policy of child migration was misguided and deeply flawed.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse published its Report on the Child Migration Programmes on 1 March. We are considering the content of this report and will provide a formal response in due course.
