Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what recent assessment he has made of the compatibility of the nuclear enrichment bill being considered by the Iranian parliament with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
We note with great concern the recent law passed by the Iranian Parliament, which - if implemented - would substantially expand Iran's nuclear programme and limit International Atomic Energy Agency monitoring access. These measures would be incompatible with the JCPoA and Iran's wider nuclear commitments. We are deeply concerned by Iran's continued and systematic non-compliance with its nuclear commitments under the JCPoA. Iran must return to compliance with the deal and not implement these measures.
