The national referral mechanism pilots ran in West Yorkshire and the South West from August 2015 until March 2017. They were fully evaluated. The evaluation was published in October 2017 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/an-evaluation-of-the-national-referral-mechanism-pilot

This findings of this evaluation were used to inform the reform of the National Referral Mechanism. Details of the reform measures can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/modern-slavery-victims-to-receive-longer-period-of-support
