Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what proportion of (a) primary and (b) secondary school children who are eligible for free school meals in (i) the West Midlands and (ii) Coventry attend a school rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.

Ofsted inspection data shows that in the West Midlands there were 67,867 pupils eligible for free school meals in primary schools, of which 84% were in outstanding and good schools as at August 31, 2017. In Coventry, there were 3,804 pupils eligible for free school meals in primary schools, of which 95% were in outstanding and good schools.

Ofsted inspection data also shows that in the West Midlands there were 39,611 pupils eligible for free school meals in secondary schools, of which 74% were in outstanding and good schools as at August 31, 2017. In Coventry, there were 2,360 pupils eligible for free school meals in secondary schools, of which 70% were in outstanding and good schools.
